1. Main Function

The rubbing color fastness of textiles is one of the main indicators for assessing the quality of printed fabrics. There are two kinds: dry and wet rubbing color fastness. The most basic test principle is: wrap the dry cloth, water or organic solvent wet white cloth on the cylindrical friction head, rubbing the surface of the dyed fabric back and forth under a certain pressure, then the color of the fiber surface and the worn colored fibers fall off and the white cloth is stained. The color fastness to rubbing was evaluated by the degree of staining of this white cloth (evaluated with a gray sample card by staining). There are many factors affecting wear and staining, such as load or pressure, interfiber friction, dynamic friction coefficient, surface roughness, fiber material damage, deformation, friction heat, and the like..

China and ISO recommended reciprocating color fastness tester, the diameter of the friction head is 16mm, the downward pressure is 9N, the frictional stroke is 10.4cm, and the friction is repeated once per second for a total of ten times, respectively, in the warp and weft directions. The rubbing cotton cloth is a 5 cm x 5 cm square which is unwound, bleached, and free of finishing agent. In the dry friction test, the sample is laid flat on the test bench of the instrument, and then the dry friction cloth is fixed on the friction head so that the warp and weft direction of the rubbing cloth is 45° with the direction of the warp and weft of the sample. In the case of wet rubbing, the dry rubbing cloth is impregnated with distilled water or an organic solvent, and extruded through a small rolling liquid roll to have a water content of about 95% to 105%, and then fixed to a friction head for testing. After the rubbing test, the wet rubbing cloth was dried at room temperature.
